The VALLI´s Trainee Activity for Young People have connected the young people (15-29 –yo) who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), or who are in educational transition phase and the older people living in carehomes or participating in the activities for the older persons.

The Trainee

• Gave the young people an opportunity to get to know older persons and work with older people in practice
• Reduced interruption of studies in the field of social and health care
• Took place in an authentic environment carehomes for the older people
• Offered the benefits of both peer support and individual support and counceling
• Was nationwide
• Participation was possible as work trial but also as a volunteer. Trainee included different motivating pilots eg. combining technology and social media.

The Trainee started 2013 it was funded by STEA Funding Centre for Social Welfare and Health Organisations until 2026.

Trainee worked in co operation with the member associations of VALLI ry and other organizations providing services for older people and for young people.
